Overview

A modern alternative to braces

Clear aligners are a series of custom-made, removable trays that gradually shift your teeth into their ideal positions — without metal brackets or wires. Each tray is worn for approximately two weeks before progressing to the next set in your treatment sequence.

At DevelopDent, we use Orthero clear aligners: a clinically proven system manufactured with 3D printing technology and supervised by certified dental laboratory technicians and orthodontists. Your treatment plan is built around your specific bite, jaw function, and long-term oral health — not just aesthetics.

Clear aligners are one of three orthodontic pathways at DevelopDent. For cases better suited to a fixed appliance, the clinic also offers dental braces; for complex or function-related concerns, comprehensive orthodontic treatment takes a broader planning approach. Which pathway fits your case is determined at the consultation.

Who it is for

Who is a good candidate for clear aligners?

Clear aligners are effective for a wide range of orthodontic concerns in adults and older teenagers. During your consultation, the treating dentist will assess your bite, jaw alignment, and dental history to determine whether clear aligners are the right approach for your case.

Clear aligners are commonly used to address:

Crowded or overlapping teeth
Gaps and spacing between teeth
Mild to moderate overbite, underbite, or crossbite
Open bite
Orthodontic relapse — teeth that have shifted after previous braces or aligner treatment
Teeth misalignment affecting bite function or uneven wear
If clear aligners are not the right fit Clear aligners may not be suitable for complex skeletal bite issues or severe malocclusions. If your case requires a different approach, the treating dentist will explain your options clearly — including whether fixed braces, a comprehensive orthodontic plan, or a referral to a specialist is in your best interest.
The process

How clear aligner treatment works at DevelopDent

Every clear aligner case at DevelopDent follows a structured, doctor-led clinical workflow — from records, through simulation, to fitting and retention. There are no shortcuts; the treating dentist is personally involved at every stage. The stages below describe what happens clinically; the entry pathway and payment sequence are set out separately further down the page.

1

Diagnostic Records

Every case is built on a 3D Orthero scan of the upper and lower arches, intraoral and profile photographs, and the targeted radiographs your treatment plan requires. The scan captures the geometry of every tooth and the way the arches meet — accurate to within microns — and becomes the working basis for the movement simulation and the appliance design. The intraoral camera is used during the same session, so you can see your teeth up close on screen and understand what is being planned.

2

Movement Simulation

The Orthero 3D analysis produces a step-by-step preview of how your teeth will move, in two-week increments, until they reach the final planned position. The simulation also indicates where small composite attachments will be bonded to specific teeth to deliver controlled forces, and projects whether refinements are likely to be needed. It is the clinical instrument the treating dentist plans against — and the basis on which the appliance is fabricated.

3

Aligner Fabrication and Fitting

Your custom Orthero aligners are precision-manufactured and delivered to the clinic. At your fitting appointment, the treating dentist will ensure each tray fits correctly and answer any questions about wear, care, and what to expect in the first few days.

4

Progress Monitoring

Throughout treatment, you will attend scheduled check-ins so the treating dentist can confirm your teeth are tracking according to plan. Clear aligners require 22 hours of daily wear. You remove them only to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. Compliance directly affects your results — and the clinic will be direct with you about this.

5

Retention

Once your final aligner is complete, a retainer is prescribed to maintain your result long-term. This stage is just as important as the treatment itself. Skipping retention is one of the most common reasons teeth shift after orthodontic treatment — and it is something DevelopDent addresses proactively with every patient.

Why DevelopDent

Why patients choose DevelopDent for clear aligners

Every case is planned by the doctor — not delegated
At DevelopDent, the treating dentist personally diagnoses, designs, and monitors every clear aligner case. There are no associate dentists, no technician-led planning, and no treatment decisions made without the treating dentist's direct involvement. This is what dentist-led care means in practice.
Bite function is part of the plan — not an afterthought
Straight teeth are not the only goal. Every case is planned with attention to how your upper and lower teeth meet — your bite — and how alignment affects jaw function over time. Purely cosmetic outcomes that compromise bite health are not how DevelopDent works.
You see your treatment before it begins
Using the intraoral camera and Orthero's 3D simulation, you will see exactly what is being proposed and why. The consultation at DevelopDent is unhurried — there is no pressure to decide on the day, and no procedures recommended that aren't clearly explained and justified.
Orthero Certified Provider in Makati
DevelopDent is a registered Orthero Certified Provider, meaning the treating dentist has met Orthero's clinical training requirements and is authorized to prescribe and supervise Orthero clear aligner treatment. As a listed provider, patients can verify DevelopDent directly in the Orthero provider directory.
A clinic experience designed around your comfort
From the couch area where you have your pre-treatment conversation, to the blanket and protective eyewear offered during procedures, to the refreshments on arrival — the DevelopDent experience is designed to make every visit feel calm and considered. This is not a high-volume clinic. Your appointment is yours.
Pricing Guidance

Clear aligner treatment from ₱90,000

Clear aligner treatment at DevelopDent starts from ₱90,000. Your final plan depends on the complexity of your case — the number of aligner trays required, the projected duration of treatment, and whether refinements are anticipated. This is determined from your 3D scan and reviewed with you in writing before any commitment.

Detailed pricing for clear aligner treatment belongs in the consultation, attached to your actual scan, where the diagnostic effort is visible. A patient who has seen their own 3D simulation, understood the proposed tray count, and reviewed the projected outcome is in a position to make an informed decision — and to weigh the cost against what is actually being delivered.

What you can rely on before walking in: the ₱90,000 floor stays. Every treatment plan includes one retainer set. Manufacturing begins only after the Treatment Initiation payment, and the full cost of your case is presented in writing before any commitment.

Flexible payment arrangements are available — specifics are agreed at consultation.

How to Start

How to start clear aligner treatment at DevelopDent

The aligner pathway is a sequence, not a single transaction. The entry point is a regular consultation, not the diagnostic deposit.

1

Consultation · ₱1,000

Begin with a regular consultation, which can be a first-visit appointment or a dedicated aligner check. Your dentist assesses whether clear aligners are the right approach for your case. If they are not, you will be told plainly, and other options will be discussed.

2

Diagnostic Deposit · ₱10,000

If you decide to proceed with planning, a ₱10,000 diagnostic deposit covers your Orthero 3D scan and the personalised treatment simulation. This is the stage where the exact aligner plan for your case is built.

3

Treatment Decision

Once the simulation is ready, you review the projected result and the recommended plan. You then decide whether to proceed. If you do, the ₱10,000 is credited toward the total cost of your treatment, lowering what you still owe. The diagnostic deposit is non-refundable and covers work already completed for your case, whether or not you choose to continue with treatment.

4

Treatment Begins

After your Treatment Initiation payment, your aligners are manufactured and your first fitting is scheduled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about clear aligners

How long does clear aligner treatment take?

Treatment duration varies depending on the complexity of your case. For mild to moderate alignment issues, most patients complete treatment within 12 to 18 months. During your consultation, you will receive a realistic timeline based on your specific 3D plan — not a generic estimate.

Is DevelopDent an Orthero provider in Makati?

Yes. DevelopDent is an Orthero Certified Provider located in Legazpi Village, Makati CBD. Dr. Monique Bacalla is the treating dentist for all Orthero clear aligner cases at the clinic.

What is the difference between Orthero and Invisalign?

Both are clear aligner systems that use custom-fabricated trays to gradually move teeth. Invisalign is manufactured in the United States and has a longer global market presence. Orthero aligners are manufactured in Turkey using 3D printing technology, with each set fabricated to your treatment plan and shipped directly from the manufacturer to your clinic. Orthero is generally more accessible in terms of cost than Invisalign, making it a practical option for patients who want a clinically sound, doctor-supervised aligner system without the premium associated with the Invisalign brand. The clinical process — scanning, treatment planning, fabrication, and monitoring — is comparable between systems. The right choice depends on your case complexity and what your treating dentist recommends.

Can a general dentist do clear aligners, or do I need a specialist?

General dentists who are certified by the aligner system they use can legally and competently provide clear aligner treatment in the Philippines. DevelopDent is an Orthero Certified Provider. For cases involving significant bite correction, jaw discrepancies, or skeletal issues, a referral to an orthodontist may be appropriate — and the clinic will advise you honestly if that is the case.

How much do clear aligners cost in Makati?

Clear aligner treatment at DevelopDent in Legazpi Village, Makati, starts from ₱90,000. The final cost depends on the complexity of your case, which is determined from your 3D scan and reviewed with you before you commit. Treatment begins with a ₱1,000 consultation; if you proceed to planning, a ₱10,000 diagnostic deposit covers the scan and simulation and is credited toward your treatment. See the four-step pathway below for how the sequence works.

How many hours a day do I need to wear clear aligners?

Clear aligners must be worn for 22 hours per day to work effectively. They are removed only for eating, drinking (except water), and oral hygiene. Inconsistent wear is the primary reason treatment takes longer than planned or produces incomplete results.

Will clear aligners affect my speech?

Most patients experience a mild adjustment period — typically a few days — during which speech may feel slightly different. This resolves quickly as you adapt to wearing the trays. The effect is minimal for most patients and not a long-term concern.

What happens after treatment is complete?

Once your final aligner set is complete, the treating dentist will prescribe a retainer to maintain your result. Retention is a permanent part of the outcome — teeth will shift over time without it. Retainer wear is typically nightly, long-term. This is discussed and planned at the beginning of treatment, not as an afterthought at the end.

Can I get a second opinion on a clear aligner plan I received elsewhere?

Yes. DevelopDent offers structured second opinion consultations for patients who have received a treatment plan from another provider and want an independent clinical assessment. The treating dentist will review your records, provide an honest evaluation, and give you the information you need to make a confident decision — without pressure to proceed with treatment at DevelopDent.

Do you offer clear aligners for teenagers?

Clear aligners can be appropriate for older teenagers, typically from age 16 or 17 onward, when most of the permanent teeth have fully erupted. Compliance is a significant factor in outcome quality — aligners must be worn consistently to work. The treating dentist will assess whether a patient is a suitable candidate during the consultation.
